(08/20/13) - A shooting in Saginaw left a 16-year-old-boy dead.
It happened on Logan Lane, on the city's south side, around 2 Tuesday morning.
Police say 16-year-old Stone Roberson was dead when they arrived on the scene.
Stone's friends have been posting condolences all day on his Facebook page, many expressing shock about what happened to him.
Police say Roberson, a Saginaw Public School student, was shot and killed outside a home in the 1100 block of Logan Lane.
We're told there were multiple shots fired, and the rounds came from more than one gun, leading investigators to believe there was more than one shooter.
No arrests have been made, but they are interviewing witnesses. At last check, no arrests have been made. State Police are working with Saginaw PD on the investigation.
Some neighborhood residents were too shocked to speak on camera, but many say crimes like this aren't uncommon here.
The news traveled fast across the city, making its way to a community meeting meant to bridge the gap between police and city residents.
"Things have got to change," said Fran Bruce, of Saginaw. "Whatever it is we are doing, apparently it's not working very well. It breaks my heart to see our young children dying."
They hope more meetings like this will lead to fewer crime scenes, so that every neighborhood in Saginaw will be safe - and no more kids lose their lives to street violence.
"We have to change the way we think, the way we feel, and the way we believe," Bruce said.
Anyone with any information about the shooting is asked to contact Saginaw Police or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-422-JAIL. You can also use the MYPD app on your cell phone and report tips anonymously.
