OAKLAND COUNTY (WJRT) -

(08/20/13) - Four murders have been linked to the Oakland County Child Killer.

In each case, the child was found several days after they disappeared.

The first was 12-year-old Mark Stebbins. The Ferndale boy's body was found Feb. 19, 1976.

It would be several months before the killer would strike again.

On Dec. 26, 1976, the body of 12-year-old Jill Robinson was discovered in a snow bank in Troy. The Royal Oak girl had run away from home several day's earlier after getting in an argument with her mother.

It would be just one month later, on Jan. 21, 1977, when a mail carrier found Kristine Mihelich. The 10-year-old was last spotted earlier in the month buying a magazine at a Berkley 7-eleven.

The last victim of the Oakland County Child Killer was 11-year-old Timothy King. He disappeared in March while on the way to buy candy in Birmingham. After a massive search and public appeal for his release, two teens found his body in a ditch on March 22, 1977.

In a statement released Tuesday afternoon, the Task Force says it will continue to work to bring the case to a close for the victims and their families.
