FLINT (WJRT) -

(08/21/13) - Flint police say a local teen took four lives in nearly four weeks.

But, Wednesday night, 18-year-old Deonte Gray is locked up after tips from the public helped police track down a suspected killer.

Gray is accused of killing four people.

Police say his crime spree started last July, when police say he killed 9-year-old Trashawn Macklin, 22-year-old Akeem Easterling and 26-year-old James Allen at Park West Apartments in Flint.

Genesee County prosecutor David Leyton says Gray lived at the apartment at one point. There was a dispute with one of the men, and two weeks later, Gray returned to the apartment and opened fire, killing three people.

Nearly a month later, police say Gray shot and killed Gregory Watkins in the parking lot of the South End Market in Flint. Leyton says Gray accused Watkins' family of stealing from him.

Gray is facing a number of charges, including three counts of 1st degree premeditated murder and one count of felony murder.

ABC12 has also learned that in 2010, Gray was one of three teens charged as an adult.

Back then, he was accused of breaking into an elderly woman's home.

Gray was shot in the leg after first shooting at a Flint Police Officer.

He pleaded guilty and received a blended sentence.
