(08/30/13) - Labor Day in Michigan means bridge walks.
If you can't make it to the Mackinac Bridge, there are three other walks in Mid-Michigan you can enjoy on Monday.
The first, steps off at 8 a.m. at the footbridge near Curwood Castle in Owosso, and goes to McCurdy Park in Corunna.
At 9 a.m., walkers can cross the Flint River at the Southern Links Trailway in Columbiaville.
The wooden covered bridge in Frankenmuth should see plenty of pedestrian traffic - you can walk that one at noon.
There are also plenty of other things to do this weekend.
"Labor Day weekend is a great time to travel," said Michelle Begnoche, of the Mich. Economic Development Corp. "Kids are heading back to school, so it's kind of your last chance to have a big crawl as a family. Although we will say the tourism season doesn't end with Labor Day. We're going into fall, which offers a whole new range of tourism opportunities.
