(08/30/13) - We're checking the Gas Gauge, Friday, to see how much fuel will cost those who are getting behind the wheel for Labor Day Weekend.
Expect to pay more than you did earlier this week.
The statewide average is $3.56 a gallon. That's up two cents in 24 hours, the biggest overnight increase in 6 weeks.
The lowest price reported as of noon Friday, on our gas gauge, is $3.51 at the Marathon at Sheridan and Williamson in Saginaw.
Gas is less than $3.60 in several spots in Genesee County, and closer to $3.80 in others.
The cheapest is at the Sunoco on Dort Highway near Richfield Road, where the charge is $3.55 a gallon.
And you can also find gas for less than $3.60 in Midland. It's at $3.58 at Murphy USA on Joe Mann Boulevard.
