Missing teen's vehicle spotted on Mackinac Bridge

(08/30/13) - Investigators need your help finding two teens who haven't been seen or heard from since Monday.

Fourteen-year-old Braxton Wood and 13-year-old Jayden Thomas are missing.

It's believed that Braxton took his family's 2005 Ford Explorer, with a Michigan tag, from their Mt. Pleasant home - to pick up Jayden, his girlfriend.

Friday evening, Sgt. Tim Swanson, with the Isabella County Sheriff's Department, confirmed that the license plate has been spotted on the Mackinac Bridge, but the teens have still not been found.

Jayden's family has been posting flyers across the state. Her parents anniversary was Friday.

Their only wish is that the flyers will bring Jayden and her boyfriend home.

"Please come home. Just come home, baby, come home," said Kelly Drinkwine.

She's desperate to hear her daughter's voice again.

Jayden left a note to her family before she ran away with Braxton.

"She wrote it in lipstick, 'I love you so much, stay happy and beautiful' and that's when my whole world fell a part," Drinkwine said.

Sgt. Tim Swanson, with the Isabella County Sheriff's office, says they've received a number of tips.

Some believe they may have seen the Ford Explorer in Kalkaska and Mackinaw City. It's also possible that the two could be in Florida, but combined, they may only have about $80.

"I believe they are in Michigan. I don't think that they could possibly make it out of state. I guess I don't put anything past them at this point, but I don't know how two teenagers can be along without getting caught, it's my worst fear coming alive," Drinkwine said.

She says both of their phones are turned off. Jayden is supposed to start her freshman year at Clare High School. She just made the volleyball team and missed her first game this week. Her friends aren't losing hope.

"Just come home, because usually when we're together, we laugh so hard that we cry but those are tears of happiness and now they're tears of being sad, I just want her home," said Mackenzie Delong, Jayden's best friend.

"We love you. We just need to know you're ok," Drinkwine said.

If you have any information, especially over the holiday weekend, please contact The Isabella County Sheriff's Office at 989-773-1000.

The License Plate number of the black Ford Explorer is BCQ 4820.
