(10/11/13) - A local community is coping with a tough loss.
Dryden High School principal Richard Duffy died on Wednesday from complications from diabetes.
Friday night students, staff and the community are gathering to remember his life.
At around 7 p.m., the football team will hit the field with heavy hearts.
Duffy died at the age of 41 after being taken to McLaren Hospital in Genesee County from complications from diabetes.
His death came as a surprise to many because the weekend before - he was at the homecoming game and dance.
He was well liked, respected and known for having a good attitude.
Duffy leaves behind a wife and five kids.
During Friday's football game, they're raising money for his family and will plan a memorial.
