(10/14/13) - Michigan State Police say scammers are posing as officers, calling people and claiming they must pay money to clear a warrant.
State police say the caller says there is a warrant for your arrest and you must pay a fine to avoid being arrested.
No officer will ever call you to notify you of a warrant and ask for money or bank account information.
If you receive a phone call like this, take the caller's information and report it to police.
Never give out your own personal information.
