(10/16/13) - A passenger took the wheel after the driver had a seizure, but couldn't stop them from crashing into a Flint home.
The crash occurred early Wednesday afternoon on the city's south side.
Fortunately everyone involved, the driver and passenger plus a small child inside the car and three men inside the home, are all OK.
"I was sitting on the couch and all of a sudden (I heard) a big bang," said
James Stevens. It was his home, on Fenton Rd. near Huron St., that was hit.
"Boom. That's my bedroom," said Stevens' roommate Richard Arrand, pointing to some of the damage.
Jeff Ramsey was in the basement.
"I have an antique globe. (It) went flying past my head and shattered," Ramsey said. "It just stunned me, scared me to death. I didn't know what to do. She's lucky she didn't come through the wall and into the basement."
Lucky seemed to be the word of the day.
All involved were OK - even a toddler, a small girl, in the backseat of the car buckled safely in her car seat.
The girl is the passenger's daughter. The passenger said the driver, her friend, had a seizure. She took the wheel, but couldn't avoid crashing into the home.
Police were on scene. The driver was transported to the hospital by
