(10/18/13) - Four duck hunters are recovering after being rescued from the
waters of the Saginaw Bay Friday morning.
A Coast Guard crew was called out shortly after 7 a.m., when one of the hunters called 911 to report their canoe was sinking near the mouth of the Saginaw River in Bay County.
As rescuers approached the area, they found some duck decoys. While crews continued their search, one of the hunters used his cell phone as a flashlight to show the rescuers where they were.
The Coast Guard says this rescue went smoothly.
The hunters were taken to the hospital, but are now home.
