(10/28/13) - Michigan State University has plans to open a Value Chain Research Institute in Midland.
MSU's president says the institute would look at how to bring products and services to market.
The University is working closely with Midland's Dow Chemical Company and Dow Corning Corporation to make the institute a reality.
They haven't decided on an exact location, or a date for the facility to open, but the institute will is good news for businesses in Midland, around the state, and even across the country.
Researchers will focus on helping firms establish great products, manufacture them and deliver them to the marketplace.
The institute will also be a place for people to learn. Eventually MSU could offer some Value Chain classes at the Midland site.
The institute would be paid for through grants, donations and corporate pledges.
