FLINT (WJRT) -

(10/28/13) - A 20-year-old man learned he'll be spending the next 23 years and 8 months behind bars for his role in a home invasion that left a retired Genesee County sheriff's deputy dead.

Aaron Robinson was sentenced Monday for the August 2011 attack against Lonnie Thomas.

Police say Thomas was shot several times in the head after surprising intruders.

Ryan Deville, the gunman, pleaded guilty last year to second-degree murder. He was 17 at the time. He's serving a minimum 25 years in prison.
