(11/01/13) - A staff member at a Bay County school is being treated for bacterial meningitis.
According to the Pinconning Area Schools, the staff member works at Linwood Elementary.
The Health Department is in the process of identifying and contacting people who may have had close contact with the staff member.
School officials point out - those who have casual contact with a person who has been infected with bacterial meningitis are at very low risk of catching it.
It's spread by direct contact with an infected person's saliva.
