Flint mother turns to Facebook, gets tip about daughter's disappearance

Posted: Updated:
FLINT (WJRT) -

(11/13/13) - Allante Hill, 19, is still missing.

Her mother, Laticia Hill, has been working social media - Facebook, Twitter and Instagram - to keep her picture posted online where people can see it.

In fact, Laticia said the first lead Flint Police have had came from a tip sent to her Facebook inbox.

Someone who knows Allante, a woman who works at the Dort Highway McDonald's, near Lapeer Road, sent Hill a message.

"She said, 'I saw her face. She came through my line,'" Laticia said.

That was 3:30 a.m., the morning of Nov. 2, according to a news release sent by police Wednesday.  Allante was riding in a car driven by a thin, white man, about 30-45 years old and balding.

There is surveillance video. Police tell ABC12 they are trying to enhance it.

Laticia said she's seen the video and didn't recognize the man.

"You don't see her in the video. It's so dark in the car. You see the man, you see him turning to the side," she said.

Laticia suspects something bad has happened to her daughter because she hasn't heard from her in so long. She last saw her more than two weeks ago - Wednesday, Oct. 30.

"She was on her own for almost three months now," Laticia said. Allante has an apartment on 10th Street, off of Saginaw Street, just south of downtown in Flint.

"If we didn't see each other (every day), we'd definitely talk on the phone. So when her friend came by and asked have I seen her today, I said, 'No I haven't talked to her yet.' He said, 'I just went by her apartment and it was open and unlocked.'"

Allante's dad went there and didn't see anything out of place.

They can't reach her by phone. Laticia said her phone log shows there's been no activity since Oct. 31.

They don't think she's been on Facebook.

"She lives on Facebook and her phone, so that's not like her," Laticia said.

Allante doesn't have a car and her mother says she has accepted a ride from a stranger before.

Hill is 5'11'' and weighs about 250 pounds. She has a tattoo of a black flower on her left hand between her thumb and forefinger.

She and the man she was with were reportedly in a white, four door, 2001-2008, Buick Century or Regal. The car has a sunroof and a paper license plate in the back, according to police.

If you have seen her, the car she was in or the man she was with, please call Officer Al Williams at 810-237-6821. His extension number is 4506.
