(12/03/13) - A new partnership between a local college, an ambulance service, and a hospital will help put dozens of EMS workers closer to earning a degree.
Davenport University, Stat EMS, and Hurley Medical Center are coming together to offer qualifying workers credit for their real-life experience.
Those credits can be used toward a number of degrees - like nursing, health, administration, and business.
"They can acquire 39 college credits and transfer that to Davenport University and continue their journey to secure their degree. And so we've recognized the course work based on the actual clinical experience that they're delivering," said Linda Rinker, Davenport provost.
Sixty credits are needed to secure an Associates Degree.
