The accident happened Tuesday afternoon near West Ludington Drive in Surrey Township.

Deputies say a 42-year-old woman from Lake was driving east on US 10, when she crossed the center line and hit another car head on.

82-year-old Harold Short died at the scene. His daughter Kathryn Skipworth, who was driving the car that was hit, was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
