(12/12/13) - There was plenty of excitement at Burton Glen Charter Academy Thursday morning.
Students found out their school had won 17 new iPad minis.
It was all part of a contest put on by National Heritage Academies to see which school could gain the most Twitter followers.
"We plan on using them for small group instruction, intervention with our students, we currently have an honors class that uses iPads to access digital curriculum to kind of scaffold the learning and differentiate the learning for students and we plan to do the same thing with these," said Denesha Rawls-Smith, Burton Glen Academy principal.
Among their new Twitter followers - President Obama and Oprah Winfrey.
Burton Charter Glenn Academy beat out 75 other charter schools to make it happen.
