Flint Police, MSP hold community meeting

Posted: Updated:

(12/12/13) - Flint Police are getting together with the community to get to the heart of some of the city's problems.

Police were inside Carpenter Road Community School, Thursday, with a relatively intimate group of people. That gives them a chance to connect one on one.

This is a joined effort between the Flint Police Department and Michigan State Police. They've been holding these meetings at various locations for a little while now.

There is no agenda - it's a chance for the community to ask whatever they want, making each meeting unique.

Thursday, neighbors are asking about crime in their streets.

One woman says someone shot at her home - and she wants answers.

The chief says this forum gives them a chance to guide people like this in the right direction.

The next meeting will be at 4 p.m., Dec. 19.
