BUENA VISTA TOWNSHIP (WJRT) -

(12/20/13) - Recall language for Buena Vista Township Clerk Gloria Platko was approved Friday morning by the Saginaw County Election Commission.

Earlier this month, the language was rejected by the commission, but Buena Vista resident Kelly Cooper changed the language for Friday's clarity hearing.

He now has until Jan. 31 to collect at least 609 signatures to put Platko's recall on the May ballot.

It was in April when Platko's use of a racial slur to describe township supervisor Dwayne Parker was played at a Buena Vista Township board of trustees meeting.

Platko can appeal Friday's ruling to the Saginaw County Circuit Court.
