MIDLAND COUNTY (WJRT) -

(12/23/13) - FEMA is giving Midland County Parks and Rec more than $12,000 to help clean up from spring flooding.

The April and May flooding did more than $16,000 in damage to Pine Haven Recreation Area, Sanford Lake Park and Veterans Memorial Park.

The Midland Daily News says the county will have to pick up any costs the Federal Emergency Management Agency isn't covering.

The parks flooded when the Tittabawassee River crested 4 feet over flood stage.
