Genesee County restaurant back in business after losing power

Posted: Updated:

(12/26/13) - A Genesee County restaurant is finally back in business, but they're running on generator power.

Da Edoardo in Grand Blanc Township lost their power on Sunday in our big ice storm.

They've been struggling to re-open ever since, and they finally did, but the days without power cost them.

The lights finally came back on Thursday afternoon at Da Edoardo, but they were told do not turn off your generator. They're not out of the woods just yet.

The restaurant lost power on Sunday afternoon. They were able to hook up a generator to their freezers and save most of their food, but they weren't able to fully open with that generator until Thursday.

Luckily, the lights turned on soon after that.

The owner tells us they took a big hit in the ice storm. They typically have a very busy Christmas Eve, and this is their second big power outage in the last month. In November, they lost power and had to close. It's been a tough few weeks for them here.

The Trillium Theatre in Grand Blanc Township has also been closed for days. We're seeing people pull up hoping to catch a movie, but they're still closed as well.
