FLINT (WJRT) -

(12/27/13) - The run-away sheep in Flint has been found and safely returned home.

'Stinker' was part of a live nativity scene at Flint's West Court Street Church of God. He was caught at Mott Park Saturday morning.

Kim Murdough, with Flint's West Court Street Church of God, says the animal bolted as it was being loaded up after the event Tuesday night.  It was the 64th year the church has had a live Nativity scene.  This was the first time it's ended like this, she said.

The sheep had been spotted not far from the church which sits, at the corner of West Court and Beecher.

Murdough said the sheep, which she referred to as he, was also spotted by Glenwood Cemetery and in the Mott Park neighborhood.

"Going down the hill, behind the frat house, across Sunset Boulevard, into the Mott Park Golf Course and down by the river - that seems to be his place he likes to be," she said. "The animal has a four inch thick wool coat on.He's fat. He's used to grazing. Even in the cold, cold weather we had, we've been assured by people that know sheep and handle shape that he will do just fine."

A search was planned for Saturday morning and people were keeping tabs on the sheep's whereabouts on the Mott Park Neighborhood Association Facebook page.
