(12/31/13) - On this last day of 2013, a look at what the new year holds for one of Flint's longest running operations.
For 70 years, the Flint Farmers Market has been in the same location on Boulevard Drive along the Flint River.
Generations of vendors and customers have grown up here, but big changes are in store.
"Its' been here since I can remember, so I have an emotional attachment," said Donna Baker, customer.
"I came here when I was 5 years old, my dad started coming down here so it's going to be different," said customer Sue Wisenberg.
"I've been coming down here since I was two years old, and I'm in my 30's, and it's a change but I think it's gonna be a good change," said vendor Kristi Mockeridge.
With the new year comes a new location. In a matter of months, The Farmers Market will move to the old 'Flint Journal Printing Press' building downtown.
"I've only seen the plans and they look very nice," Wisenberg said.
"I think it's going to be bigger, I think it's going to attract more people and that's good," Baker said.
Vendors hope that's the case. For some, the move is both exciting and uncertain.
"It's kinda sad, you see some of the people who have already gone and I grew up with them myself and I'm going, 'that's so weird that they're not there,'" said vendor Marcella Robinson.
"I'm pretty excited about the downtown move and excited about getting new equipment," Mockeridge said.
"The Farmers Market will remain open at this location on Tuesday's, Thursday's and Saturday's until the end of April. It will open the first week of May in the new, downtown location.
