Mid-Michigan police offer reminders for New Year's Eve

Posted: Updated:

(12/31/13) - There are some reminders from Mid-Michigan police on this New Year's Eve.

They urge you to not drink and drive - have a designated driver.

The Saginaw County Sheriff's will have extra patrols out on the roads, Tuesday night.

"If you don't want to spend your new year at the Saginaw County Jail, enjoy yourself, but get a ride if you've had anything to drink, and if you want to drive, don't drink at all. That's really, really good advice I think and it makes it real easy," said William Federspiel, Saginaw County Sheriff.

Police also urge you to not shoot guns into the air to celebrate the new year. The stray bullets could hit people, pets or property.
