DETROIT (WJRT) -

(01/17/14) - If you go to the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, make sure you take the escalator down to the Michigan Hall. There you'll find an exotic car made by a Mid-Michigan company.

Nearly three years ago, we first told you about Falcon Motorsports in Holly. They've been tweaking the design and have settled on something they like.

"We get a lot of: Is that a Lamborghini? Is that a Ferrari? Which kind of makes our heads get a little big when they mention those two names," said Carl Lemke, of Falcon Motorsports.

But the F7 is strictly an American design, springing from the production facility in Oakland County. They're always making improvements. Recently, the interior was spruced up.

"We're really, really happy about how it came out. The other one had a little bit more of a race car theme," Lemke said.

The mid-engine car is capable of launching from zero to 60 in under four seconds, with a top end around 200 miles an hour. Professional drivers are heaping praise.

"They said right out of the box it's one of the nicest cars they've ever driven," Lemke said.

They're are two Falcon models, the F7 sells for $229,000 while the F5 goes for only $139,000. Each car is hand built. The seventh and eighth models are being assembled.

"We're ramped up to produce more cars at this time," Lemke said.

Customers can personalize their cars so they are truly unique.

"This particular car belongs to a doctor. His wife said: "I want this the color of my purse." We scanned the purse, got the color. This is the exact color of her purse. That's what she wanted," Lemke said.

The is the third time a version of the F7 has been at the auto show in Detroit.
