Flint Police investigating overnight shooting, person in custody

FLINT (WJRT) -

(01/19/14) - A person is now in custody after police say they shot a man early Sunday morning.

The shooting happened around 1:45 a.m. on Asylum near West 2nd Street in Flint.

When police arrived, a man was suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was taken to Hurley Medical Center in critical condition. The man had surgery and is now in stable condition.

The suspect was arrested not far from where the shooting took place. The arrest was a joint effort between Flint Police, Genesee County Sheriff and Michigan State Police officers.

Police are not releasing any more information at this time. Stick with ABC12 for the latest developments.

    (04/19/2014) - A plane crashed in Shiawassee County Saturday afternoon around 2:00 p.m. The plane went down in a field on M-13 and Potter Road. That is just near the Genesee County border.
