(01/22/14) - Wednesday morning, PNC Bank cut the ribbon on its new in-school
branch at Saginaw Preparatory Academy.
Now students can open bank accounts and take deposits from classmates.
School staff will deliver the deposits to a local PNC branch to be put into the students' accounts.
"It's very important to start saving early. Thinking about your future. Thinking about college," said Lamar Woodley, Pittsburgh Steeler.
"What we're trying to do is give the students a first-hand experience of what this process looks like, just managing accounts, just mathematics, all of those things. We really want to enforce the academic portion that goes along with it," said Desmond Bibbs, PNC spokesperson.
PNC is providing free minor savings accounts for each participating student.
