(01/22/14) - Slick roads are being blamed for several accidents along west I-69 in Genesee County.
A portion of the highway, between Bristol and Miller Roads in the Flint Township area, was closed Wednesday afternoon because of a multi-vehicle accident.
James Allred was at the tail-end of the multi-vehicle accident.
"We were going along about 55 and semi threw his skids on," said James Allred.
Allred was driving to Lennon to drop off some wood. He says he hit his brakes and didn't have time to do much else.
"It was just like it picked up speed," he said.
Danielle Patten, coming from Clio and headed to Perry, got snagged with a pretty impatient toddler in the backseat.
"We can't even see what it is," she said.
William Taft was behind the wheel of a brand new truck when he got caught up in the accident.
"This truck started the problem here. He hit the guardrail, slammed right in front of this guy in his truck," he said. "The black car hit me and bounced me all the way from that red truck up through here and hey, I was just creeping like these people," he said.
I-69 is not the only trouble spot on the roads. Genesee County 911 also shows crashes on 75 and 475.
Roads remain slick. Drivers should use caution if traveling Wednesday evening.
