(01/28/14) - Bitterly cold temperatures are making everyday life difficult for
many Mid-Michigan residents.
The list includes travelers, students and those on the job - but some are lucky enough go to work in a much warmer climate.
We visited several businesses in Frankenmuth, including Zehnder's and T-Dub's. Workers there put in time in an environment that feels almost tropical compared to the conditions outside.
While they feel bad for those who had to tough it out in the elements, they're not offering to trade jobs. One woman couldn't resist taking a poke at her sister.
"Oh yeah. I'm like, have fun in the cooler, Mel. I get to go work with food and be warm all day. And she always like, 'don't rub it in,'" said Beccy Aymer, Zehnder's culinary assistant.
"You know, it can be a little bit brutal sometimes, when you're coming outside and in. It kind of takes a while to warm up. Sometimes you can even notice, you'll see a server walk back by there and kind of stand by the oven," said Chad Moore, T-Dub's general manager.
