Cold weather keeping customers out of restaurants

GENESEE COUNTY (WJRT) -

(01/28/14) - While the mercury is taking a nose dive, so are restaurants' bottom lines.

Owners are telling us that fewer people are willing to brave the cold to head out for dinner.

Olympic Grill in Flint said they depend on regular customers during cold spells like this.

"They come in and support us and we really appreciate it," said owner Ndue Vukha.

"The cold weather slows us down," he said. "I don't blame them because it's cold, they have kids at home, they have seniors at home, it's hard for them."

The brand new restaurant Beef and Barely in Flint Township said they've still been fairly busy. They just opened last month, so they think customers' curiosity is winning out over the cold.
