GENESEE TOWNSHIP (WJRT) -

(02/05/14) - The wheelchair that was stolen from a paraplegic man in Genesee Township has been returned.

Thomas Beck reported his wheelchair stolen Sunday, while he was leaving home.

Police say another man came in Wednesday and told them some guys had thrown a rock or brick at his car and threw a wheelchair at the end of his driveway.

The man told police he had the wheelchair in his garage, which turned out to be the one stolen from Beck's home.

"I went over, I got the wheelchair and took it over there to the other gentleman, who identified it and said that was his," said Chief John Mullaly, of the Genesee Township Police Department.

In a separate case, police did stop two men for pushing stolen items in another stolen wheelchair. One of them is in jail. The other ran away.
