13th annual Black History Brunch held in Flint on Saturday

FLINT (WJRT) -

(02/08/14) - The Genesee District Library hosted the 13th annual Black History Brunch in Downtown Flint on Saturday.

The brunch featured several performances. The Flint City Wide Choir performed as well as Academy Award winning singer Regina Belle. ABC12's Matt Franklin emceed  the event.

Resource Genesee, Alfred Bradley, Louis Hawkins, Lawrence Moon, and Carolyn Nash were all presented with the "Award of Excellence." To see their full stories click here.

The proceeds from the brunch will go to the Genesee District Library's Summer Reading Club. David Conklin, Genesee District Library Director, told ABC12 that 5,000 children will improve their literacy skills through the summer program.
