Local Home Depot employees produce winning music video

OWOSSO (WJRT) -

(02/14/14) - For three Mid-Michigan Home Depot employees, what happens in Vegas will be seen by hundreds of store managers and executives. They're headed west after their music video was chosen as the best in an annual contest.

Casey Lambert and Jordan Sovis were disappointed when a video they submitted last year failed to gain the attention they were seeking from Home Depot judges. This time around they added vocals by co-worker Micayla Marks.

Lambert and Sovis teamed up on a song they call a fusion of boy bands and hip hop. They shot it in the Owosso store after hours with help from a video production company.

"We were here for about four or five hours I believe. I took the video they shot and did about ten hours of editing," Sovis said.

"Our friend Micayla, who works here as a cashier, has a golden voice," Lambert said.

The judges said it was the best company video this year.

"We'll actually be performing the number that we did in our video on stage at the Mandalay Bay casino in Las Vegas, which is a really big stage," Lambert said.

"We get to work with some of the best vocal instructors," Sovis said.

"They're giving us background dancers," Lambert said.

Friday, people stopped by the Owosso Home Depot store to applaud the artists for their achievement.
