Made in Michigan: Yarn for Olympic sweaters

MICHIGAN (WJRT) -

(02/19/14) - It's one of the most patriotic moments of the Olympics - athletes marching into the stadium behind the American flag.

So, many Americans were outraged to learn the U.S. uniforms at the London games were made in China.

The designer, Ralph Lauren promised 2014 would be different. Everything worn by team U.S.A. would be made in America.

A Northern Michigan fiber mill is one of the 40 partners who helped tie it all together.

There were seven mile races tonight that started at UM-Flint and ended by the Flint Farmer's Market. And there was one race down the bricks of Saginaw Street. Special Olympians went for the gold as they sprinted across the finish line.
