(02/20/14) - A special Saginaw School Board meeting is set for Thursday at 7:30 p.m., as they continue to deal with a budget deficit.
The Michigan Department of education is giving the district until Friday to present more information before signing off on the deficit elimination plan.
That plan calls for closing schools and cutting salaries.
District leaders had presented their plan to the state this week, but the MDE says that plan left out specific budget information.
If school leaders don't come up with the information, they could risk future state aid payments.
