(02/20/14) - Genesse County's newest charitable organization presented their first grant award, Thursday.
They call themselves the Gen Forward Network. They're a group of young philanthropists who are working for the greater good of Genesse County.
Thursday, the group donated more than $15,000 to local non-profit Red Ink Flint. Red Ink Flint runs a substance-free concert venue.
They plan to use the money for after school programs for kids.
"We had a pilot program last year called "No Child Left Online". The Gen Forward Grant will make that a year-round program, 24 events a year, all weather, we'll take kids canoeing on the Flint River, biking on the Flint River Trail," said Joel Rash, director of Red Ink Flint.
