Mt. Morris students take a stand against bullying

Posted: Updated:

(02/25/14) - Some local high school students are taking a stand against bullying.

Students from Elisabeth Ann Johnson High School in Mount Morris wore pink shirts, Tuesday, and formed a giant pink heart in the gym.

This event started in 2007, after a Canadian boy was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. Students began wearing pink shirts to show bullying is not acceptable.

"People are always wondering about what they wear, or how they act, brands, brands are a big thing. They need to know that they're not. You can be yourself and you should be accepted," said Cheyenne Lawrence, a junior.

Students throughout the district, and their parents, were also asked to wear pink.
