FREELAND (WJRT) -

(02/25/14) - Some Freeland High School students want you to keep your eyes on the road - not your phone.

Freeland has a group called the Students Leading Students Council - a group of teens working to promote safe and sober activities.

They received grant from Ford and AAA to help promote safe driving in their community.

Tuesday night, they focused in on texting while driving.

At the basketball half time show, they had students demonstrate why it's dangerous by texting and driving through an obstacle course - on tricycles.

Next, the teens plan to invite a guest to talk to students about the dangers of drinking and driving.
