New legislation would regulate social media after death or incapacitation

(02/26/14) - Mount Pleasant Republican Kevin Cotter is pushing a new legislation to better regulate what happens to a person's social media account if they die or become incapacitated.

Under the bills, emails and social media accounts would be considered assets.

Family members would be allowed to access a person's account.
