Blowing snow leads to accidents in Genesee County

Posted: Updated:

(02/27/14) - It seems Old Man Winter is on an extended stay in Mid-Michigan.

Blowing snow caused plenty of problems Thursday morning for drivers in Genesee County and other areas.

Slick road conditions and blowing snow are to blame for an accident on west I-69 and Belsay Road in Burton. A Jeep rolled over and landed in the snow bank. The driver was not seriously hurt.

Another driver spun out about 200 yards from that accident, just after the Belsay Road accidents. They were not hurt.

In Huron County, Sebewaing Light and Water is asking customers to run their water through March to prevent pipes from freezing. Customers only need to run a heavy drip or small stream. All water and sewer bills will be adjusted.
