(02/27/14) - Under a new plan introduced in Lansing, five more promise zones could be created in Michigan.
One of them would completely fund college for some students in Flint.
The Flint Promise Zone would be similar to Saginaw. It would be paid for through a combination of state funding and private donations.
Students would have to meet requirements, like possibly a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
The proposed Promise Zone legislation will probably go through changes before a vote is taken.
