(03/04/14) - Whatever you do - don't count the carbs and definitely don't count those calories.
It's Fat Tuesday, one last chance to indulge before Lent - and eat Paczkis, which are flying off the shelves in Mid Michigan.
Krzysiak's House in Bay City knows a thing or two about putting the 'fat' in Fat Tuesday.
"This is like a marathon. It's a Paczki marathon, that's what it is," said Don Krzysiak, Krzysiak's House owner.
An all-star band of Michigan polka hall of famers was already rockin' before the crack of dawn.
"This is our seventeenth annual Paczki Palooza Polka Party," said Jeanne Preston.
Fat Tuesday sales at Krzysiak's benefit the Salvation Army - and let's just say that plenty of people were ready to indulge on these 1,200 calorie jelly filled delights.
"I ate the whole thing. It was so good. Once a year," said customer Kay McNally.
The line of hungry Paczki fantactics had already stretched out the door by 5:30 a.m.
"I'm polish, and love the day. I can eat and don't have to worry about a thing," said customer Dee Gwizdale-Bennett.
Krzysiak's had more than 8,000 Paczkis ready to go for pre-orders, and by the end of the day expected to sell more than 12,000.
"The girls are working, working, working. They've been working since 8 o'clock yesterday morning, working 24 hours straight," Krzysiak said.
One thing's for sure - one Paczki is never enough.
"I'm taking two dozen, going to work, and we're going to go nuts," said customer Eric Gassman.
