GENESEE COUNTY (WJRT) -

(03/14/14) - Needless to say, it's going to be a very busy month with March Madness, Saint Patrick's Day and the Big Ten tournament.

People often head to the bars to celebrate those events, but getting home safely can be a problem.

A new business is trying to help out. Their name sums it up - BarcarZ.

It's a new designated driving service for people who have had too much to drink in Genesee County.

BarcarZ will drive you home in your own car.

"We take the patron out, we put them in their car, we take them home and the chase car follows and picks up our driver," said Matthew Holifield, BarcarZ owner.

Holifield says you can set up a ride 24-48 hours in advance. They're also there if you unexpectedly overindulge while out and about with friends.

"It's a $25 pick up and it's $2.50 a mile. We will actually drop off other passengers that are in your party for $5 a piece," Holifield said.

Right now, the service is aimed at Genesee County bars.
