FLINT (WJRT) -

(03/17/14) - Monday, the attorney for a laundry worker at Hurley Medical Center, in Flint, announced a settlement has been reached in a racial harassment lawsuit.

Mark Hilliker was awarded $200,000.

He says his African American supervisor referred to him as "white boy" more than 100 times between October 2011 and February 2013.

Hilliker was the only white employee in the laundry department.

This incident happened around the same time another lawsuit, filed by Nurse Tonya Battle, gained national attention. Battle says a white father asked that no African Americans care for his child in the neonatal ICU.
