Mid-Michigan begins to see road closures due to flooding

Posted: Updated:

(03/19/14) - The National Weather Service is forecasting a 40 to 90 percent flood risk for the state of Michigan.

With the arrival of Spring and a still frozen ground, the rain and the melting snow may lead to problems.

We're already starting to see some issues.

Baldwin Road, between Fenton and Torrey Roads, in Mundy Township, is back open to traffic, after being closed Wednesday because of water overflow from a frozen culvert.

As of Wednesday night, there was about 18 inches of water over the roadway in an area of Center Road, near Frances,  in Genesee Township,

Not an issue for big trucks, but vehicles lower to the ground probably can't pass through. If you come up on a spot like this, it's probably best to turn around and not risk it.
