(03/20/14) - Third graders at Holmes STEM Academy, in Flint, are becoming quite the chemists.
They've been conducting chemistry experiments with normal household products.
So far, they've made homemade butter and magic milk.
Thursday, students celebrated their accomplishments with a pancake party inside their kitchen chemistry café.
"If we use our hands, it goes to our minds. If it's something that we really do, we internalize it. It means more to us than just a piece of paper or book," said Olga May-Henley, third grade teacher.
Holmes STEM Academy is hosting another pancake party Friday from 9-11 a.m.
Just call ahead for a reservation.
Donations are welcome.
