A blue reminder of those lost to child abuse

Posted: Updated:

(03/28/14) - Sixty-three blue pinwheels are now spinning on the Genesee County Courthouse lawn.

Each one represents a child who died in our state because of abuse or neglect.

It's a powerful sight and tribute created by Whaley Children's Center.

Paint our town blue is designed to remind us that every day children are abused and neglected in our community.

Throughout April, local businesses are joining Whaley and displaying and selling pinwheels -=- the national symbol of child abuse and neglect.
