MUNDY TOWNSHIP (WJRT) -

(04/02/14) - A Swartz Creek teen has learned that he will face trial for causing an accident that killed a newlywed mother.

Eighteen-year-old Zachary Parker faces several charges, including second-degree murder.

Police have previously said his blood alcohol level tested at more than twice the legal limit the night he got behind the wheel and traveled the wrong way down US-23 last February.

Parker hit a vehicle carrying Mariah Bailey-Collins, killing her and injuring her husband and 11-year-old son.

The judge overseeing Wednesday's final day of preliminary testimony reviewed the evidence and decided the teen will go on trial.

He will face eight charges.

His attorney tells ABC12 they may explore options for a plea deal.
