Students, teachers compete in volleyball game for Special Olympics

Posted: Updated:

(04/03/14) - A friendly game of volleyball in Flushing, Thursday, was about much more than the perfect "bump, set, spike".

A team of teachers took on a team of students to raise money for the Special Olympics.

Their goal is to collect enough to send local athletes to the state summer games in Mt. Pleasant.

Things got a little messy after the game, too.

The losing team - in this case, the students, had to be subjected to getting pies smeared in their face by the staff members they played against.

Canned food was also collected at the assembly, which will help support the ABC12 School Spirit Cup Challenge.
