FLINT (WJRT) -

(04/03/14) - General Motors will teach 10 Flint high school students some important skills this summer.

GM vice president Gerald Johnson announced the Flint Southwestern Classical Academy students will be paid to work with two mentors who are GM retirees.

Under the GM Student Corps program, the teams will work three days a week from June to mid-August.

They'll take on a number of community service projects, such as cleaning up parks or improving playgrounds.

The GM Student Corps program started last year in Detroit.
